I consider myself to be a very resilient person with high levels of tolerance to emotional pain. I had a beautiful childhood so this is something I had to develop as an adult.

I can thank my more than a decade of pastoring, following and obeying God in spite of unimaginable obstacles for helping me develop in that area.

But, I’ll let you in on a secret. I don’t like to fail and I like being embarrassed even less. Yet, I know that in order to go to the level God is calling me, I will have to endure both.

You must crawl before you walk and as you learn you will fall . . . and you know, embarrassment is a choice. So, I am preparing myself mentally and spiritually for the obstacles that I expect to face on my journey.

How about you? Do you know what your triggers are? The thing that makes you shrink back and not do the thing you know you are meant to do. What is it?

Why are you letting it have rule over you. You are more than a conqueror. The God in you is bigger than whatever is trying to hold you back. Break free. Isn’t it time to excel?
